Woodland Management We offer a full woodland management service. We can draw up a woodland management plan for a 5 or 10 year period based on your requirements, carry out a survey and valuation and produce a valuation report if you wish to either sell or buy woodland. Or simply advise you on any aspect of looking after your woodland whether it is thinning work, coppicing, wildlife control or the range of grants available.
Grant Aid Advice Fighting your way through the myriad of grant schemes can be very difficult. Woodland Grant Schemes, Woodland Improvement Grants, Farm woodland Schemes, Countryside Stewardship Schemes, English Nature and a host of local council schemes may be available. We can offer advice on the range of schemes available, suggest the most suitable and apply for them on your behalf. Often the cost of drawing up the scheme is grant aided in itself. With most planting schemes we are happy to apply for them free of charge on your behalf as part of the deal.
Legal Reports & Advice We offer a professional advice service and can prepare and submit reports on a wide range of tree, forestry, woodland or training related matters. These can vary from reports into work related accidents to arboricultural reports as to the likely effect of excavations for new drains, mobile phone masts etc. Clients range from Building Companies to Solicitors. All reports are based on current joint witness rules and are totally independent.
Deer Management Deer numbers in the south-east are rapidly increasing and are having an important economic and environmental impact. Even the Government has now admitted that deer numbers need reducing by 35%. Deer related traffic accidents are costing over £11 million a year and many important woodlands are having their flora destroyed by over grazing. It is very rare that any tree planting in the south-east can be successful without some form of protection against deer.
Deer management is far more than just shooting deer on site. We can help with identifying the problem and the species of deer concerned. Advising on the most suitable methods of either control or exclusion, draw up a sustainable management plan and help to implement it. Many owners have been caught out by thinking they have dealt with the problem by letting out the deer stalking. Often this means someone coming in occasionally to shoot a trophy buck and nothing else. Deer numbers need to be managed by controlling the female population and then bringing the male population down into line. To do it properly requires skill, professionalism & dedication on behalf of the stalker. In some cases shooting may not be an option and fencing or other means of exclusion may be preferable. We will give you professional and unbiased advice as to what is best for your situation.
Rabbit Control Rabbit numbers, like deer, are on the increase. We are currently carrying out rabbit control for a number of clients, especially golf courses. We can advise on the most suitable method for the site, whether exclusion by fencing, gassing or night shooting. All done by experienced fully trained and certified staff.
